Like many girls and young women today, I struggled with my mental health when I was young. At Uni, I was prescribed antidepressants which only made things worse. I then climbed the career ladder - managing big teams protecting the environment and then working with global brands.
But still, I wanted answers. I immersed myself in understanding and experimenting with different concepts and ideas spanning the fields of psychology, human evolution, holistic therapies, relationship coaching, health and wellbeing and natural movement. The difference it made to my life can't be described in words and I am still going because I don't ever want to stop learning. Despite all the “progress” our society claims to have made in the last two decades, the mental health of our young people hasn’t got better – it’s got far worse. This isn’t ok and I can’t ignore it when I could help by sharing my experience. The lessons I learnt were life-changing but we're not taught this stuff at school. That's why I now mentor young women to help them deal with challenges, be themselves and create a life they love. |
